Aram is the son of Shem the son of Noah who built the Ark. He had four sons named Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash. Gen 10:21-23
Abraham's brother Nahor had eight sons with his wife Milcah. One of them, Kemuel, had a son named Aram Gen 22:20-21
Aram lies to the east of Moab and has a region with mountains. The place called Pethor lies in Aram and is next to a river Num 22:4-23:7. The city of Damascus lies in Aram 2 Sa 8:5-6.
